The Network of Community Ministries will be moving to a new Richardson location more than four times the size of its long-time facility amid skyrocketing needs brought on by the pandemic.
âSince March of 2020, Network has increased food distributions by 600 percent and rental/housing assistance by 400 percent,â the nonprofit said on its fundraising campaign page for the new location.
The Network is a nonprofit serving the 14 zip codes within the Richardson ISD, which includes parts of Dallas and Garland in addition to Richardson. The non-denominational, community-based organization serves nearly 30,000 individuals annually, according to its website.
For nearly 20 years, the Network has leased its current 12,500 sq. ft. building at 741 S. Sherman St. in Richardson. The location saw multiple renovations, but still faced challenges related to âclient privacy, operational capacity and program efficiency,â according to the organization.
