Plano’s Davis Library is undergoing a $5.3 million project that will expand services and extend the library into the joint-use facility connected by a breezeway.
Work will begin in April and is expected to be completed by late spring of 2022. The project was approved by voters under a 2017 bond referendum.
The construction will double the size of the children’s space and add a dedicated children’s room,, according to an announcement from the city. Additionally, new study rooms and meeting places for students and the general public will also be constructed.
The library, at 7501 Independence Parkway, will still offer several services during construction, including new materials for all ages, limited computers and printing, 3D printing and assistance from staff, the city said.
